Our Story

Founded on decades of expertise, research, and brokerage leadership in the futures industry, Tradovate was born out of the recognition that futures traders were long overdue for a new and innovative futures trading experience. The mission: deliver a seamless futures trading experience on new technology with new pricing designed to reduce a trader’s total cost of ownership. From his previous success as founder of futures broker Open E Cry, LLC, founder Rick Tomsic began assembling a team of experts in 2014 to craft this vision. The company launched in 2015 to serve the needs of active futures traders and operates out of Chicago, Illinois.

Prior to founding Tradovate Holdings, Rick founded Open E Cry, LLC (OEC) in 2001 and has served in various executive roles at optionsXpress, Charles Schwab, and GAIN Capital.

Brian managed the design and release of the original OECTrader, and went on to serve in several key leadership roles at Open E Cry: VP, Technical Services and VP of Business Development prior to leading Tradovate Technologies, LLC.

Victor joined Tradovate after serving as Lead Software Engineer for OEC, where he oversaw technical innovations and trading performance improvements. Prior to OEC he was Sr. Software Engineer for TradePipe. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science.
